Mindfulness-Mindful of your truth

We would all like to think we are true in our thoughts, words and deeds but are you really living your truth? What are your values? Your beliefs? Our beliefs about ourselves may be shaped by our parents, our teachers, our peers but we can only truly know our truth by looking inward.

Knowing your truth necessitates a great deal of self-study to develop an awareness of who you really are and what you want out of life. Once we know our truth, we can grow spiritually.  We become aware of our boundaries so that it becomes easier to say 'no'. You are no longer defined by your job, your financial situation etc and you no longer depend on others to feel good about yourself.

In our yoga video this week, the intentions are to open up to our truth, know our truth, surrender to that truth then become strong enough to stand in that truth.

Ultimately it is through meditation that we gain insight into our truth. Each time we meditate, it is as if we create a 'groove' into our subconscious. As we continue with our meditation practice we deepen this 'groove' eventually illuminating 'true self' that is the person you are who is not shaped by cultural influences.
